Hi there....January 12th
Jeff is doing much better every day. Of course any little activity gets him very tired. He misses work but knows he has limitations right now. He will be going back to work around Feb. 1st.
I (Janet) started my first round of chemo yesterday (Jan. 11th). Wow....a long day! Went in at 8 am for blood work etc., saw the doctor and got hooked up around 9:30 am. They put all in intravenous drugs in through my port in my chest, they do one drug at a time, of which there were 7. Everything went well...got to go home at 4:45 pm. It takes a long time for those IV's to drip! Got put on 2 different anti-nausea drugs and really high dose Prednisone for another 5 days. I go this morning to the hospital for an infusion of Neulasta (helps build white cells back up). I have a lot of do's and don'ts to follow. I need a secretary to follow everything. Unlike last year chemo, I wasn't wired to the max...I actually was tired, along with a horrible taste in my mouth, gastric back-up and sicky feeling.
Today I got up, took meds and had a nice warm cup of cappachino and I feel better...so far! Ordered a wig....will lose my hair around day 14 or 15. That should be an experience!!! I think I may let Anna cut my and play beauty shop!!
Love, Janet
