Day 149 ~ God's gift to me...

I love seeing the birds, butterflies and flowers when I go outside. Today it is a cloudy, rainy day. However, when I went outside early this morning in my backyard, off the deck, everything is green and lush with colors of pinks, yellows, white and purples. Even though it going to be a rainy day, I felt uplifted just listening to the birds...like they were singing just for me. All of a sudden my flowers are blooming...as if to please me too. Just sitting out there and looking to the sky, I said my thanks for another beautiful day.

Jeff got stuck in Milwaukee for a couple extra hours as they had to go to the basement of the church (he was at deacon school) because of a tornado warning. When he finally got to drive home it was raining so hard he couldn't see past his own car. Very scary. He said streets and the freeway were flooding and it was a very difficult drive. But, he made it home safe and sound. In Fond du Lac we were under a tornado watch for a while, then it changed to severe storm warning and flash flood warning. We got over 3" of rain yesterday and it looks like rain all week.

I trimmed the spirea bushes yesterday, got one side of the house done and had to quit due to exhaustion. I went in to the house and crashed on the couch for about 1-1/2 hours. My right arm has about 200 scratches on it....and the dogs want to lick it constantly....NO!! I have a headache and I think I am fighting a sinus infection and this weather makes my arthritis act up, other than that I feel pretty good. Mostly just have tiredness issues. I have learned to give in and simply lay down for a while as my body is telling me something.

Oh, I had a giggle yesterday evening too. I had signed up with Skype and I know Fr. Pat has it too. So, the calls are free even though he is in Israel. So, I proceeded to call him and the man that answered at the hotel keep saying something that I couldn't understand. finally after a couple of minutes of going back and forth......I finally understood what he was trying to tell me! Sleep.....he was telling me that Fr. Pat was sleeping and that it was 2:45 am. (it was 6:45 pm my time) OOPS! Father Pat was in Ireland,, now Jerusalem. He is on a Sabbatical for a couple of months. His blog is: http://www.frpatsabbatical.blogspot.com/
if you want to see what he is up to. It is very interesting.

I wish you all a very Blessed Sunday................Love, Janet
