Yesterday and last night we got 8" inches of rain and the DeNevu Creek overflowed and came rushing down our street as you can see by the above pictures. These pictures are taken in front of our house, looking over at the high school and the pond. I took these pictures this morning so a lot of the water has already receded. It was solid water from the pond to our driveway, there wasn't any grass or street showing last night. So far the street has cleared in front of our house but intersections down the street are still flooded. Of course, I had an appointment at the hospital this morning at 8:00 am and Jeff thought I could make it over there. WRONG!!! I ventured out in my car and didn't make it very far, a couple of blocks and my car DIED. Jeff had it towed to the dealership and he just called around 2:00 pm and my car still won't start. :( At least we didn't get water in our basement or be evacuated like over 300 people did in our city. What a mess! What normally takes Jeff 10 minutes to get home from work, took him 55 minutes last night. So many of our streets were closed it was hard to find an open road.
I am praying that we do not get any more rain! (at least for a while) I guess tomorrow I will be fixing up the back berm. I'll have to rake the mulch back in to the berm as the flooding in the back yard washed the mulch off the berm.
Have a great weekend................Love, Janet
