Days 363-372 ~ Just call me klutz!

First off.....Happy Inauguration Day.....Go..Obama!

I have not posted for a while as I haven't felt real well. I have had major sleep problems. I do sleep at night, but find that I fall asleep while on the computer, reading, watching TV, talking......etc. during the day....in fact sometimes just 1 hour after awaking in the morning. Also I have had a major fibromyalgia and arthritis flare-up.....which tends to make me not want to do much. Then on top of that....

.....last night I'm on my cell phone talking to Jenny (daughter) and carrying in packages from the car and I hit a patch of ice. Oh, did I mention that I was wearing these cute little patent leather boots with heels? Needless to say, I went flying across the sidewalk in front of my front porch...the cell phone sliding across the sidewalk, landing about 4 feet out of my reach. After my first "oh sh*t", and my moans and groans, I yelled out to Jenny who was still on the phone that I'd call her back. I landed knee, hip, elbow, shoulder, head. (my injured hand, somewhere in that mix) I laid there for a moment and assessed each part as I got up. Thank goodness the railing for the porch was there so that I could get up. (because I did not have the necklace that advertises "I've fallen and I can't get up!) Anyway, I hobbled in to the house and the dogs greeted me as if to say, "we saw you coming up the walk...and then you were gone" (yes, they were barking up a storm) I seemed to be okay except my little finger and the side of my hand and the last knuckle on the hand. It was very swollen and was turning blue & white. I called the doctor on call at the Orthopedics clinic and he said to go in first thing in the morning if I could stand the pain etc. I did have x-rays this morning and I did not break anything. Of course I can't even hold my toothbrush it hurts too much. lol lol What a klutz!

The advice for the day is: don't wear heels on icy walkways!

P.S. I could have avoided all of the above, except Jeff had used my car the day before and for some odd ball reason he put the garage door opener in his jacket pocket, instead of leaving it in the car. Therefore I had to use the front door instead of driving in to the "safe" attached garage. It's okay Jeff...I still love ya!

Blessings, Janet
