Day 262, 263, 264, 265 ~ Sad news re: diaconate

Do you think Anna loves her little cousin? She sure does! And...Luke loves her too! We love them both!!!

It has been a very stressful few days. Jeff met with Fr. Pat from our parish and had a long talk regarding the diaconate program. Jeff really wants to be a deacon but the time issues are taking a toll. With the classes, driving, homework and required additional hours at the church, it adds up to around 62 hours a month without the homework and required reading. So, Jeff made the dreaded decision to resign from the dioaconate program. He wants to focus on his job and family. It was very emotional for him and very sad.

Encouraging Word

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

~ Psalm 37:23

Today, Saturday is a beautiful day with the sun shining. We are going to work together and clean up the yard for fall/winter. I think we are even going to build a campfire! Love that smell!

  • We thank God for the great day and that we are working together, side by side.
  • We thank God for our health.
  • We thank God for directing our paths in the right direction.
Encouraging Word

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

~ John 3:17

Love, Janet & Jeff

Hi Janet and Jeff,

We certainly missed you this morning, and while I'm sorry to hear you had to make the decision you did re the diaconate program, it certainly sounds like you made a prayerful, wise one. Just wanted you to know you'll be in my prayers as you continue on your own journey!
